Description |
Basket. Attributed to Pomo. Collected Sherwood Valley. Coiled bowl-shaped basket, three-rod foundation of willow, sedge weft with design in redbud; twined start; continuous design of diagonal parallelograms with checkered centers with some of the areas on the bottom half of the basket displaying "quail top knot designs" extending upward; between one set of bands is a "free-form" floating pattern of vertical bars moving upward with two quail top knots substituted, design end with two inverted triangles at rim; rim is light/dark blocks or checkered. 16 cm high, 21 diameter at rim. |
